The Drive

Yes, it was probably not the safest exercise, but I thought capturing part of the glorious view along the lake from Lausanne to Vevey would be good. Gets really beautiful about 6 or 7 minutes outside of town with the vineyards to the left and the French Alps to the right, just beyond the water. Tiny villages hug the coast and perch the slopes. There is a drive that winds and meanders precariously up through the vineyards that is breathtaking, but I'm not a total idiot. This video ends at St Saphorin, one of my favorite lakeside villages which, by the way, has a fantastic restaurant often frequented by Nixon when he was in the area; a gourmand (remember the Chinese banquets during that trip in '72?) - he was full of surprises.
